Relative clauses grammar cards
Worksheet description
Twenty-four card correction / multiple choice game.
Includes more advanced points such as prepositions in relative clauses, e.g. ...five people, three of whom I had met before etc.)
Instructions
This activity can be done collaboratively or competitively. First, cut up the cards and place them face down in the centre of the group.
Collaboratively: Students work as a group and turn the cards over one by one, folding back the bottom part with the answer.
Competitively: Use a snakes-and-ladders or other game board. When a student lands on a question square, another student picks a card from the pile, folds over the bottom part with the answer, and shows or reads the top part to the student who has to answer.
A penalty for getting the answer wrong can be implemented, e.g. miss a turn or go back one square.
