Elipsis dialogue
Worksheet description
Two short dialogues in informal British English between two friends / family members. One is meeting the other at the airport after a flight. The first dialogue does not include ellipsis and is unnatural; the second features ellipsis.
Instructions
Give out the first dialogue. Students work in pairs and try to reduce it. Then give out the second for them to compare with their own. Students can then read the second dialogue aloud in pairs.
Vocabulary to check / pre-teach: packed out (full / crowded); kip (sleep).
