Worksheet description
Twelve matching dominoes that make discussion questions related to spending and saving money.
shopping binge, bulk buy, live within your means, pay over the odds, retail therapy, rip off, savvy shopper, shop around, upmarket, penny pincher, save up for something, haggle over the price
(These expressions come up in New Inside Out Advanced, Unit 5)
Instructions
Cut up the cards as indicated.
Divide them equally among the students in the group.
Any student can start by laying down any of his/her cards face up.
Students try to complete the questions on the first card.
They should proceed one card at a time*.
Demonstrate on the WB if possible.
When a question has been completed, they should discuss the question before moving to the next match.
*Note: They should not have all the cards face up on the table at the start of the game as this is far more difficult to do and not every student will be focused on every match.
