Worksheet description
Cut up. Students take it in turns to read out statements using the past simple: the house was a mess on Sunday morning. Others have to guess the reason using the past perfect: You'd had a party the night before.
Instructions
Cut the sheet into strips, one for each situation (left side) and explanation (right side). Students take it in turns to read out the situation. The others in the group have to guess the correct explanation using either present perfect simple or continuous.
