Worksheet description
Twelve matching dominoes with sentences including the following future time expressions: any day now, at some point in the future, going forward, in ten years' time, in the near future, in the next few years,
in the short term, in years to come, shortly, this time next week, twenty years from now, within weeks
Instructions
Cut up the dominoes and divide equally among students. One student lays a domino at random to start the activity.
Students must then add the previous or next domino to continue the chain. If the completed sentence is a question, students should discuss their answers to the questions
It is important that they do this one domino at a time; trying to match all the dominoes at once is very challenging. Matching one-by-one ensures that all students focus on every example.
