Prefixes and suffixes

Instructions

Sheets can be used individually or as a whole set.
Matching and gap-fill tasks can be used for self-study/homework.

To use as a complete lesson, put some example sentences on the WB containing prefixes or suffixes and elicit what they have in common (i.e. prefixes and suffixes!)

To make it more interesting, for prefixes project pictures that would prompt the use of words containing a prefix - e.g. an overloaded truck, a disused factory etc.
For suffixes write some sentences with suffix errors for students to correct:
e.g. The metro is very convenience.

Establish that prefixes modify the meaning of a word and suffixes indicate the part of speech.
